Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep grief over the loss of lives in a fire mishap in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, and announced financial assistance for the victims and their families from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
In a message posted on X, the Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident. He said rescue operations were underway and authorities were extending all possible assistance to those affected.
The Prime Minister announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the PMNRF for the next of kin of each person who lost their life in the fire. Those injured in the incident will receive Rs 50,000 each.
“Anguished by the loss of lives in a fire mishap in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. My condolences to the bereaved families. May the injured recover at the earliest. Rescue operations are underway and authorities are providing all possible assistance,” the Prime Minister said.
