PM Modi reviews Rs 30,000-crore infrastructure projects at 52nd PRAGATI meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday chaired the 52nd meeting of PRAGATI (Pro-Active Governance and Timely Implementation), the ICT-enabled multi-modal platform aimed at improving coordination between the Centre and State Governments for timely implementation of key projects and programmes.

During the meeting held at Seva Teerth, the Prime Minister reviewed four major infrastructure projects worth around ₹30,000 crore spanning the road, power, industrial corridor and metro rail sectors across four states. The projects were assessed with a focus on timelines, inter-agency coordination, issue resolution and timely completion.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Yesterday, chaired the 52nd PRAGATI meeting, during which we reviewed infrastructure works worth over Rs. 30,000 crore. These works will add momentum to economic growth, connectivity and industrial progress. Emphasised the use of PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for timely completion of development works. Other subjects reviewed include TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, grievances related to Cyber Crime and Digital Arrest.”

Focus on Faster Infrastructure Delivery

Reviewing the progress of the projects, PM Modi underlined that delays in infrastructure development not only lead to cost overruns but also deprive citizens and industries of timely benefits. He directed the concerned ministries and state governments to resolve pending issues in a mission mode and ensure close monitoring of projects at the highest level.

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of leveraging the PM GatiShakti National Master Plan for efficient planning and execution of infrastructure projects. He called for regular updating of project-related information, including utilities, infrastructure layers, clearances and field-level data on the digital platform.

PM Modi said accurate and real-time information on the portal would help identify bottlenecks in advance, improve inter-agency coordination and facilitate faster, data-driven decision-making.

Review of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

Apart from infrastructure projects, PM Modi reviewed the progress of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan and emphasised the use of emerging digital technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to strengthen efforts aimed at eliminating tuberculosis.

He suggested involving NCC cadets and MY Bharat volunteers in awareness campaigns, patient follow-up initiatives and community mobilisation to support the nationwide health mission.

Concern Over Rising Cyber Fraud

The Prime Minister also reviewed grievances related to cybercrime and digital arrest cases, expressing concern over the increasing misuse of digital platforms to defraud citizens.

He stressed that such cases require coordinated, sensitive and time-bound action by all concerned agencies. PM Modi said citizens should not have to approach multiple departments for assistance and called for clear accountability, faster responses and stronger coordination among law enforcement agencies, banks and digital platforms.

The Prime Minister further highlighted the need for intensified public awareness campaigns to help citizens identify and avoid cyber fraud.

Observing that timely intervention is crucial in cyber fraud cases to prevent financial losses and maintain public confidence, he urged all stakeholders to strengthen prevention, reporting, investigation and grievance redressal mechanisms through closer collaboration.

PM Modi also asked states to work towards enabling e-Zero FIR mechanisms to facilitate faster registration and response in cyber fraud cases.

The PRAGATI platform continues to serve as a key governance mechanism that enables the Prime Minister to directly monitor major projects, programmes and public grievances while facilitating seamless coordination between central ministries and state governments.
