PM Modi shares Sanskrit Subhashitam, highlights public service and good governance

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam, emphasising the values of public service, good governance, humility, and dedication to duty.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Public service is the ultimate touchstone of good governance. Only a person who works continuously with humility, dedication, and devotion to duty earns the trust of the people.”

Sharing the Sanskrit verse along with its interpretation, the Prime Minister highlighted the qualities of an ideal ruler who remains committed to the welfare and protection of citizens.

The verse states that a ruler who enjoys the devotion of his subjects, remains focused on nurturing and protecting them, and conducts himself with self-discipline and humility attains prosperity, glory, and lasting success.

Elaborating on the message, PM Modi said that a people’s representative who regards service as a sacred duty, works tirelessly for public welfare, ensures security and well-being through good governance, and remains dedicated to societal progress with humility and self-discipline ultimately earns the trust, respect, and recognition of the people.

The Prime Minister’s message comes as he completed 12 years in office and became India’s longest continuously serving elected Prime Minister, underscoring themes of public welfare, accountable governance, and nation-building.

The post drew attention to the importance of leadership rooted in service, integrity, and commitment to development, values that have frequently featured in the Prime Minister’s public addresses and governance philosophy.
