Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), New Delhi, celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026 with a special yoga session centred on the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing” (Swasth Aayu ke Liye Yoga). The event highlighted the complementary role of Yoga and Ayurveda in promoting preventive healthcare, holistic well-being and healthy lifestyles.
The programme was attended by Director Dr. Vandana Siroha, CRAV Gurus Vd. Tara Chand Sharma and Vd. Namadhar Sharma, along with officials and staff members of the Vidyapeeth. Participants took part in various yogic practices, including asanas, pranayama and meditation, aimed at improving physical fitness, mental well-being and overall health.
Speakers emphasised that the combined principles of Yoga and Ayurveda contribute significantly to balanced living, preventive healthcare and healthy ageing while fostering harmony between the body, mind and spirit.
The event concluded with participants pledging to adopt Yoga as a way of life and spread awareness about its benefits within their families, workplaces and communities. RAV said the celebration reaffirmed the enduring relevance of Yoga and Ayurveda in addressing modern health challenges and building a healthier and more balanced society.
