Union Minister for Panchayati Raj and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, popularly known as Lalan Singh, will confer the National Panchayat Awards (NPA) 2025 on 42 outstanding Panchayats from across the country at a ceremony in New Delhi on June 3.
The awards will be presented in the presence of Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, senior officials of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, elected representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs), and delegates from various states and Union Territories.
The event will also be attended by Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, along with other senior government officials and representatives of award-winning Panchayats.
42 Panchayats to be Honoured
Of the 42 award-winning Panchayats, 34 Gram Panchayats will receive the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar, while eight Panchayats will be honoured with the prestigious Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar for their exemplary contributions to sustainable rural development and grassroots governance.
The awards recognise outstanding performance by Panchayats in promoting inclusive growth, local self-governance, sustainable development, and community-led initiatives.
Continuation of National Panchayat Awards 2025
The June 3 ceremony follows an earlier National Panchayat Awards event held on April 24, 2025, when Prime Minister Narendra Modi presented awards under three special categories.
The upcoming ceremony will cover the remaining award categories under the National Panchayat Awards 2025 framework.
Showcasing Best Practices
As part of the programme, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj will release an e-book highlighting the achievements, innovations and best practices of the award-winning Panchayats. A compendium documenting successful initiatives and governance models adopted by Panchayati Raj Institutions across the country will also be unveiled.
Ahead of the award presentation, heads of the selected Panchayats will share their experiences and success stories through dedicated presentation sessions, offering insights into innovative governance practices and community development initiatives.
The National Panchayat Awards are aimed at encouraging excellence in local governance and recognising Panchayats that have demonstrated exceptional commitment to sustainable development and effective service delivery at the grassroots level.
