The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Tuesday declared the results of the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2026 for admission to the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination, with 1,046 candidates making the cut against 80 vacancies.
The shortlisted candidates qualified on the basis of the screening test held on May 24. Their candidature, however, remains provisional and is subject to the completion of further formalities prescribed by the Commission.
UPSC said candidates will be required to log in to its online portal during a window that will be announced later to complete mandatory requirements, including payment of the examination fee, submission or updation of scribe and assistive device details, and filling in cadre preferences. Candidates belonging to exempt categories, including women, SC, ST and PwBD candidates, will not be required to pay the ₹200 fee.
The Commission emphasised that all qualified candidates must update or reconfirm their details and submit the application form online to enable the generation of e-Admit Cards for the Main examination. Failure to do so will render them ineligible to participate in the next stage of the selection process.
UPSC also said the result of one candidate, bearing Roll Number 6300119, has been withheld pending the outcome of an ongoing court case.
The Commission clarified that marks, cut-off scores and answer keys of the screening test will be released only after the completion of both the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2026 and the Civil Services Examination, 2026.
Candidates seeking information or clarification regarding the results can contact the UPSC facilitation centre between 9 am and 8 pm.
