Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region Jyotiraditya M. Scindia on Tuesday unveiled “Scale without Boundaries” as the theme for the 10th edition of the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2026, while also conferring the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards 2025 on two organisations for their contributions to India’s telecom ecosystem.
The 10th edition of Asia’s largest digital technology forum will be held from October 7 to 10, 2026, at Yashobhoomi (India International Convention & Expo Centre) in New Delhi. The theme reflects India’s ambition to build a digital future where technology, innovation and connectivity transcend traditional boundaries and are adopted at scale across sectors, communities and geographies.
The theme launch event was attended by Union Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani and Department of Telecommunications (DoT) Secretary Amit Agrawal.
Speaking on the occasion, Scindia said India’s telecom journey has evolved from connecting the next billion people to enabling the next billion possibilities.
“India’s journey in telecom has moved from connecting the next billion to enabling the next billion possibilities. The theme of the 10th India Mobile Congress, ‘Scale Without Boundaries’, reflects our ambition to ensure that the technologies we build, the standards we shape and the solutions we create in India reach new markets, communities and possibilities across the world,” he said.
The Minister said India is increasingly emerging as a country that designs, develops and scales technology for the world.
“India is no longer only a market for technology; we are increasingly becoming a nation that designs, develops and scales technology for the world. From indigenous telecom technologies and 6G standards to digital public platforms, our journey from ‘Vocal for Local’ to ‘Local for Global’ embodies the spirit of ‘Scale without Boundaries’ and our vision of building a Viksit Bharat 2047,” he added.
The 2026 edition of IMC will be built around four thematic pillars:
* Srishti – Building the Future, focusing on innovation and next-generation digital infrastructure.
* Suraksha – Strengthening Trust, highlighting secure and resilient digital ecosystems.
* Sashakt – Expanding Opportunities, aimed at leveraging technology for inclusive growth and wider digital access.
* Samvardhan – Fueling Growth, showcasing the role of digital technologies in driving investment, entrepreneurship, job creation and India’s emergence as a global technology leader.
The event will bring together leading global and Indian technology companies, telecom operators, policymakers, startups, investors, researchers and innovators to discuss the future of telecommunications and digital technologies.
IMC 2026 will showcase innovations across technologies including 5G, 6G, Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), cloud and edge computing, satellite communications, electronics manufacturing, quantum technologies and green technologies. It will also feature technology demonstrations, product launches, industry collaborations, investment opportunities and policy discussions.
The flagship startup programme ASPIRE will continue to provide startups with opportunities to connect with investors, incubators, accelerators and industry leaders.
Highlighting the significance of the event, Pemmasani said the last decade has been transformational for India’s telecom sector and that IMC has become a platform where governments, startups and investors come together to drive innovation.
DoT Secretary Amit Agrawal said the 10th edition would showcase India’s telecom achievements on a much larger global stage.
Marking a decade of India Mobile Congress, the event will celebrate its evolution from an initiative aimed at “connecting the next billion” to a global platform focused on scaling Indian technologies and solutions worldwide.
According to the Ministry of Communications, the previous edition attracted more than 140,000 visitors, featured 860 exhibitors from 101 countries, showcased 1,500 technology use cases, hosted 465 startups, and included 918 speakers across 113 sessions, including keynote addresses, roundtables and panel discussions.
Telecom Excellence Awards presented
Scindia presented the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Telecom Excellence Awards 2025 to Amantya Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Finaara for their outstanding contributions to telecom technology.
Congratulating the winners, the Minister said the awards recognise excellence in telecom innovation and encourage the development of India’s telecom ecosystem.
Instituted by the Department of Telecommunications, the annual awards honour outstanding contributions in areas such as telecom innovation, telecom skilling, telecom services, manufacturing and telecom-enabled applications across sectors including agriculture, healthcare, education and commerce.
The awardees were selected through nominations submitted by citizens and institutions via the Rashtriya Puraskar Portal, managed by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
