Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said the Union Cabinet’s approval of the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojana Rasayan (BHAVYA Rasayan) Scheme and the expansion of the Ballari-Guntakal railway section will strengthen India’s industrial ecosystem, logistics network and economic growth.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said the BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme marks an important step towards strengthening India’s chemical and petrochemical sector through the development of modern chemical parks equipped with plug-and-play infrastructure, utilities and robust environmental safeguards.
He said the initiative would reduce logistics and production costs, attract investments, enhance exports, promote import substitution and generate employment across multiple sectors.
Earlier in the day, the Union Cabinet approved the BHAVYA Rasayan Scheme with a financial outlay of ₹3,030 crore to establish three dedicated chemical parks across the country. The scheme aims to strengthen domestic manufacturing, improve the global competitiveness of India’s chemical industry and attract fresh investments. The decision was announced by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw following the Cabinet meeting.
The Prime Minister also welcomed the Cabinet’s approval for the construction of the third and fourth railway lines on the Ballari-Guntakal section, stating that the project would significantly improve connectivity between Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh.
He said the rail expansion would enhance passenger mobility, facilitate the efficient transportation of key commodities, improve access to important cultural and tourist destinations, reduce congestion and create new economic opportunities in the region.
The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), chaired by Prime Minister Modi, approved the railway project at an estimated cost of ₹1,264 crore.
According to the government, the project has been planned under the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, with a focus on improving multimodal connectivity and logistics efficiency through integrated planning.
