Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to the medical fraternity on the occasion of National Doctors’ Day.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “On Doctors’ Day, greetings to our dedicated doctors, whose hard work, compassion and commitment form the backbone of India’s healthcare system. Their tireless efforts, often in the most challenging circumstances, have earned the trust and gratitude of countless people.”
Highlighting the progress made in the healthcare sector over the past decade, he said, “Over the last decade, India has made significant strides in strengthening our healthcare ecosystem. The number of medical colleges has more than doubled, while undergraduate and postgraduate medical seats have expanded substantially. This unprecedented growth is creating greater opportunities for aspiring doctors, building a stronger healthcare workforce and ensuring that quality medical care reaches every corner of the country.”
“As we work towards building a Viksit Bharat, our doctors will continue to play a pivotal role in promoting preventive healthcare, advancing medical research, embracing innovation and delivering affordable, accessible healthcare for all,” the Prime Minister added.
In another post, PM Modi hailed Indian healthcare workers engaged in rescue and relief operations in Venezuela as part of Operation Amistad.
He said, “Today, as we mark Doctors’ Day, I would like to appreciate all the doctors and medical professionals from India who are tirelessly working in Venezuela, as a part of Operation Amistad. In such a challenging time, their efforts to serve those in need are shining examples of how medical professionals rise to the occasion every time our society faces a challenge.”
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also greeted doctors on the occasion, acknowledging their contribution to public health and nation-building.
In a post on X, HM Shah said, “Greetings to all the doctors on National Doctors Day. Your dedication and commitment to promoting good health, curing diseases, and creating greater awareness about healthier lifestyles are paving the way for a stronger and healthier society. May this day further strengthen your commitment to serving society.”
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda also expressed gratitude to the medical fraternity for its service to the nation.
“On the occasion of Doctors’ Day, I extend my sincere appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to the medical fraternity for its unwavering dedication, exemplary professionalism, and compassionate service to humanity. I salute your invaluable contribution and convey my best wishes for your continued success, good health, and well-being,” he said.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also conveyed his greetings, describing doctors as the foundation of a healthy and empowered society.
In a post on X, he said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes on National Doctors’ Day to all physician brothers and sisters who regard service as the supreme purpose of their lives and are dedicated to protecting humanity. You are the cornerstone of a healthy and empowered society. May God bless you all to always move forward with complete dedication, compassion, and energy in serving the people.”
Meanwhile, as India’s humanitarian assistance under Operation Amistad continues in earthquake-hit Venezuela, citizens have expressed gratitude for the medical care being provided by the Indian Army Field Hospital in Caracas.
Sharing videos on X, Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted several beneficiaries thanking India for its timely assistance and praising the quality of treatment provided by Indian medical specialists. The Embassy of Venezuela in India also acknowledged the deployment of the Indian Armed Forces’ field hospital as part of bilateral cooperation to support those affected by the June 24 earthquakes.
India has deployed rescue teams, field hospitals, medicines and relief supplies to the disaster-hit nation.
