Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini | promote natural farming | set up district-level committees

Haryana to set up district-level committees to promote natural farming: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday announced that the state government will constitute ‘Prakriti Shri Anna Prerak Kisan Committees’ in every district to promote natural farming and encourage farmers to adopt sustainable agricultural practices.

Addressing the ‘Prakritik Kheti Samvad’ organised by the Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Department in Panchkula, Saini said the committees would act as ambassadors of natural farming by reaching out to farmers, visiting their fields and coordinating with the government to facilitate their transition to natural farming.

“The primary responsibility of these committees will be to connect farmers with natural farming. They will visit farms, interact with farmers and work as ambassadors of this campaign,” he said.

During the programme, the Chief Minister interacted with farmers and assured them that their suggestions would be considered and implemented at the earliest. He also directed Agriculture Department officials to release subsidies to farmers practising natural farming who have applied for financial assistance to purchase cows.

Saini said natural farming was not just a cultivation technique but a movement aimed at restoring the bond between farmers, nature and society.

“It is a means of serving Mother Earth, reducing cultivation costs, conserving water and soil, and ensuring a safe future for coming generations,” he said.

Urging farmers to become ambassadors of natural farming, the Chief Minister said the focus should now shift from discussions to action and motivating more people to adopt the practice.

He said the state government would continue holding direct interactions with farmers and take sustained measures to expand the natural farming campaign across society. He also instructed officials to organise similar dialogue programmes every month.

Saini said Acharya Devvrat would be invited to major seminars on natural farming so that farmers could benefit from his experience and guidance.

He added that such dialogues were not only aimed at teaching farming techniques but also at reviving the traditional relationship between farmers and nature.

Highlighting the importance of natural farming, Saini said PM Narendra Modi has emphasised that it is a key requirement for the 21st century.

“Natural farming is not merely a new method of cultivation but a campaign to protect the earth. It helps reduce farming costs, conserve the environment and contribute towards building a prosperous Viksit Bharat for future generations,” he said.
