Delhi Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu on Friday chaired a meeting of the Advisory Council of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to review progress on the upcoming Master Plan for Delhi and discuss strategies for sustainable urban development, according to an official statement.

Sandhu, who is also the Chairman of the DDA, emphasised the need for technology-driven solutions to address the national capital’s evolving urban challenges and called for strict action against illegal encroachments and unauthorised constructions.

The meeting was attended by senior DDA officials and Members of Parliament Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Sudhanshu Trivedi.

In a post on X, the Lieutenant Governor said he had directed the DDA to adopt a zero-tolerance approach towards illegal encroachments and unauthorised constructions by leveraging technology for real-time monitoring of land parcels and buildings.

“Directed @official_dda to maintain zero tolerance against illegal encroachments and unauthorised constructions by leveraging technology for real-time monitoring of land parcels and buildings, enabling prompt detection and swift enforcement,” he said.

Sandhu said the meeting included extensive deliberations on the upcoming Master Plan for Delhi, strengthening civic and institutional frameworks, and ensuring planned, inclusive and future-ready urban growth.
