Parliament’s Monsoon Session from July 20, key Bills likely to be tabled

Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday announced that the Monsoon Session of Parliament will commence on July 20 and continue until August 13.

The four-week session will comprise 19 sittings and is expected to witness the introduction and discussion of several key Bills, along with debates on issues of national importance.

Rijiju said the government expects “meaningful debate, discussion and decisions” during the session. The schedule for the Monsoon Session has been approved by President Droupadi Murmu on the recommendation of the government.

Announcing the dates in a post on X, Rijiju said, “On the recommendation of the Government of India, Hon’ble President Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji has approved the summoning of both Houses of Parliament for the Monsoon Session 2026. The session will commence on July 20, 2026, and continue till August 13, 2026, for meaningful debate, discussion and decisions on issues of national importance.”
