Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with more than 400 youth participants of the Viksit Vibrant Village Programme (VVVP) 2026 on July 26, highlighting the government’s efforts to strengthen border villages through youth engagement and community participation.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), PM Modi will address the participants via video conferencing at 4:30 pm on Sunday.
The programme, implemented through MY Bharat, has been designed to advance PM Modi’s vision of treating India’s border villages as the “first villages” of the nation and making them active partners in the country’s journey towards becoming a developed nation under the Viksit Bharat initiative.
The Viksit Vibrant Village Programme 2026 was conducted in two phases between June 4 and June 30, covering 74 Vibrant Border Villages across Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. More than 400 young participants, representing every State and Union Territory, were selected through a nationwide online quiz competition that attracted participation from over three lakh youth.
During the month-long programme, participants stayed with local families, enabling them to experience life in India’s frontier regions firsthand. They took part in a range of community-focused activities, including Swachhta drives, awareness campaigns on government welfare schemes, Yuva Sammelans, cultural exchange programmes, tree plantation campaigns, Mini Model Panchayat simulations, interactions with local artisans and visits to institutions of strategic importance.
The initiative aims to provide young people with a deeper understanding of the socio-economic conditions, cultural heritage and developmental aspirations of border villages while promoting national integration and encouraging community participation. It also seeks to enhance awareness of the strategic importance of India’s frontier regions and inspire greater youth involvement in nation-building.
