Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday underlined the state government’s efforts to create a robust sporting ecosystem, with sustained investments in infrastructure, wider access to facilities and greater opportunities for aspiring athletes. He said the focus extends beyond producing winners to fostering a sporting culture that can inspire generations.
“Behind every champion is a system that believes in them,” said Sarma in a post on X.
Sarma said Assam was working towards building such a support system by investing in world-class sports infrastructure, expanding access to sporting facilities and creating opportunities for young athletes across the state.
“Assam is building that system by investing in world-class sports infra, expanding access & creating opportunities for every aspiring athlete. Our goal is not just to produce winners, but to build a sporting culture that inspires generations,” further read in his post.
A video shared along with the post highlights Assam’s efforts “since 2021” to strengthen its sporting ecosystem through sustained investments in modern infrastructure. It showcases the development of new sports complexes, modern stadiums and mini stadiums across districts, aimed at bringing world-class facilities closer to athletes and creating greater opportunities for sporting talent.
The video underscores the state’s focus on ensuring that talent is not constrained by a lack of infrastructure, while laying the foundation for the champions of tomorrow.
