Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Monday distributed assistive devices to persons with disabilities in Raipur district under Project Sahara, reaffirming the state government’s commitment to promoting accessibility, self-reliance and equal opportunities for beneficiaries.
The assistive devices distributed under the initiative included motorised tricycles, manual tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, walking sticks, walkers, knee braces and prosthetic limbs.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Sai said the initiative would make daily life more convenient and instil greater confidence among persons with disabilities.
“We are distributing a variety of equipment to persons with disabilities in Raipur district. It includes motorised tricycles, tricycles, wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, walking sticks, walkers, knee braces, prosthetic arms and legs. I extend my heartfelt wishes to all my brothers and sisters with disabilities. Receiving these assistive devices will undoubtedly bring renewed enthusiasm and convenience to their lives,” the Chief Minister said.
He also thanked the Social Welfare Department and the district administration for implementing the programme.
In a post on X, Sai said development becomes meaningful when it transforms lives, restores confidence and enables people to realise their aspirations.
“Today, assistive devices were distributed to persons with disabilities under the ‘Project Sahara – Divyangjan Equipment Distribution Programme 2026’ in Raipur. This initiative is not just about providing equipment, but about strengthening self-reliance, dignity and confidence. The double-engine government remains committed, with the guiding principles of service, sensitivity and good governance, to ensuring a life of dignity and equal opportunities for every person with disability,” he said.
