Delhi-NCR likely to receive heavy rain, thunderstorms on Monday

Delhi-NCR is likely to witness heavy rainfall and thunderstorms on Monday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting gusty winds and a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius.

The national capital is expected to record a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius. The IMD has warned of heavy rain, thunderstorms and winds gusting at 30-40 kmph in Delhi.

The weather office has issued alerts for heavy rainfall, thunderstorms and strong winds across 19 states, including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Wind speeds of up to 80-85 kmph are likely in some areas, while isolated hailstorms have also been forecast.

Several parts of western India may experience another spell of intense rainfall. An upper-air cyclonic circulation persists over southwestern Rajasthan and adjoining areas, while another cyclonic circulation over the northwestern Bay of Bengal is influencing weather conditions across several regions.

In Uttar Pradesh, the IMD has forecast heavy rain, thunderstorms and strong winds in several districts, including Noida, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Aligarh, Agra, Mathura, Moradabad, Kanpur, Bareilly, Bijnor, Gonda, Basti, Bahraich, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra and Kannauj.

Winds in parts of Uttar Pradesh may reach 70-75 kmph. Lucknow is likely to record a maximum temperature of 29 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.
