Heavy rain lashes parts of eastern Rajasthan, inundates roads and underpasses in Alwar

Moderate to heavy rainfall was recorded at several places in eastern Rajasthan during the last 24 hours, with Aligarh in Tonk district receiving the highest rainfall at 11 cm, the Meteorological Centre said on Tuesday.

Lalsot in Dausa recorded 9 cm rainfall, while Govindgarh, Kishangarh Bas and Malakheda in Alwar received 8 cm each. Chauth Ka Barwara in Sawai Madhopur, Nainwa and Patan in Bundi and Pachpahar in Jhalawar recorded 7 cm each, according to the weather department.

Rain continued intermittently in parts of Alwar, Jaipur, Chittorgarh, Kota, Dausa and Tonk since Tuesday morning.

In Jaipur, rainfall for the second consecutive day brought down temperatures, while heavy showers in Alwar caused waterlogging at several places, turning roads into streams and inundating underpasses.

Several other parts of eastern Rajasthan also received rainfall on Monday, while western Rajasthan remained largely dry.
