Light Rain, Thunderstorms Likely in Delhi-NCR

Delhi-NCR is likely to witness generally cloudy skies on Thursday, with very light to light rainfall expected during the morning and forenoon, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

The maximum temperature across the region is likely to range between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is expected to remain between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius. Delhi, Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad are likely to experience similar conditions, with intermittent cloud cover and the possibility of light showers.

The IMD said rainfall in some areas could be accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Commuters have been advised to remain cautious as wet and slippery roads may affect traffic movement in several parts of Delhi-NCR.

Delhi recorded light to moderate rainfall at most places and moderate to heavy rainfall at isolated locations on Wednesday, with thunderstorms and lightning reported in some areas.

Several weather stations in Delhi-NCR recorded significant rainfall during the period. Pusa received 51.1 mm of rain, Pitampura recorded 64.5 mm, while Mayur Vihar registered 12 mm.

Noida is likely to witness partly cloudy to sunny conditions during the day, with the possibility of a thunderstorm in the morning. Humidity may add to discomfort despite intermittent cloud cover, while monsoon activity is expected to remain active across Uttar Pradesh.

Gurugram is also likely to remain cloudy, with intermittent sunshine. A thunderstorm may occur in isolated areas during the morning, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach around 34 degrees Celsius.

Faridabad is forecast to experience partly cloudy skies and a possible morning thunderstorm, followed by sunny intervals. The maximum temperature is expected to touch around 32 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may remain near 25 degrees Celsius.
