The National Career Service (NCS) Portal has mobilised more than 10.05 crore job vacancies since its inception, while over 6.64 crore jobseekers have registered on the platform, the government informed Parliament.
According to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, the NCS Portal serves as a one-stop digital platform offering career-related services, including employment opportunities in the government and private sectors, career counselling, vocational guidance, skill development information, job matching, and details of online and offline job fairs.
As of July 15, 2026, the portal has 2.89 crore active jobseekers and 17.68 lakh active vacancies. The ministry said the platform continues to connect employers and jobseekers through an integrated digital ecosystem.
To improve accessibility and user experience, the NCS Portal has been upgraded to a cloud-based, open-architecture platform with several AI-powered features. These include intelligent job matching, AI-based skill gap analysis, personalised job recommendations, an AI interview coach, multilingual support through Bhashini, cloud-based applications for employers and jobseekers, and enhanced verification mechanisms. The government has also launched a mobile application for the portal.
The ministry said the portal’s enhancement is a continuous process, with updates being introduced in line with evolving technological and employment requirements.
To strengthen employment opportunities, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has signed more than 40 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with public and private organisations. These include partnerships with APNA, Swiggy, Rapido, Zomato, Amazon, TCS iON, Quikr and Foundit (formerly Monster), enabling services such as job listings, skill development programmes, career counselling and job fairs through the portal.
The NCS Portal is also integrated with several government platforms, including Udyam, eShram, Skill India Digital Hub, EPFO, ESIC, DigiLocker and education-related portals. It is linked with recruitment agencies such as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and the Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB).
As part of the National Career Service project, the government has approved 407 Model Career Centres (MCCs), including 370 Employment Exchanges that have been upgraded to provide career counselling, employer outreach and job fair services at the local level.
The ministry further informed that 31 States and Union Territories have been integrated with the NCS Portal, with eight States and UTs directly using the platform for employment services.
The government said all employment-related schemes and programmes are periodically reviewed before each Finance Commission cycle to ensure they remain relevant, effective and aligned with changing priorities.
The information was shared by Union Minister for Labour and Employment Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in a written reply in the Lok Sabha on August 3.
