BJP chief Nitin Nabin’s new team unveiled; PM Modi hails “organisational experience, grassroots connect”

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday announced its new team of national office-bearers under party president Nitin Nabin, bringing in several new faces while retaining experienced leaders and giving significant representation to women.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and leaders entrusted with various organisational responsibilities.

In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Congratulations to the newly appointed National Office Bearers of the BJP and those who have been given various responsibilities in the Party. This newly appointed team brings together organisational experience, energy and grassroots connect. I am confident they will give their best in strengthening our Party and focussing on public service. My best wishes to them.”

Former Amethi MP Smriti Irani, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Sunil Bansal, Vinod Tawde, Gajendra Patel, Satish Poonia, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia have been appointed as National General Secretaries.

B L Santosh will continue as the BJP’s National General Secretary (Organisation).

The announcement comes nearly six months after Nitin Nabin took over as BJP president.

The party has also appointed 13 National Vice Presidents, including former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, Ram Madhav, Baijayant Panda, D Purandeswari, Rekha Verma, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, Prof M Nagaraja, Prof Tariq Mansoor and Madhuchandra Kar.

Six of the 13 National Vice Presidents are women.

The BJP has named 16 leaders as National Secretaries. They include Kavita Patidar, K Surendran, Dr Bhola Singh, Pradip Varma, Jagdish Ishwarbhai Patel, Sandeep Pathak, Phangnon Konyak, Sangeeta Yadav, Anil Antony, M Venkateshan, Manoj Tigga, Siddharth Shambhu, Swadesh Singh, Mriganka Deo Barman, Rohan Gupta and Jai Prakash.

Piyush Goyal will continue as the party’s National Treasurer, while Rajya Sabha MP Tarun Chugh has been appointed Central Office In-charge.

Gujarat MP Hemang Joshi will head the BJP Yuva Morcha, while Chhattisgarh leader Roop Kumari Choudhary will oversee the Mahila Morcha.

Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni will continue as Media Convenor. Ashish Usha Agrawal, Pradeep Bhandari and Siddharth Yadav have been appointed as co-convenors.

Deepak Mhaskey of Chhattisgarh has been appointed Social Media Convenor.

The new organisational team will face a major electoral test in 2027, when several states, including Uttar Pradesh, are scheduled to go to the polls. The organisational changes also come amid speculation about a possible reshuffle of the Union Council of Ministers.
