Parliament is set to resume its Monsoon Session on Monday as it enters its third week, with the government expected to push ahead with several legislations despite repeated disruptions that have marked the proceedings so far.
In the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh is scheduled to introduce the Indian Statistical Institute Bill, 2026, while Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is expected to introduce the Bankers’ Books Evidence Bill, 2026.
In the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi is scheduled to move the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2026 for consideration and passage.
The Monsoon Session has been marked by repeated protests and adjournments, with Opposition parties raising issues including alleged examination paper leaks, police action against protesters during the Jantar Mantar demonstration, and the alleged theft of donations meant for the Ram Mandir.
The first two weeks of the session witnessed frequent disruptions and heated exchanges between the treasury and Opposition benches, affecting the transaction of business in both Houses.
Despite the disruptions, Parliament has passed two key legislations: the Prevention of Insults to National Honour (Amendment) Bill, 2026, and the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026.
The Monsoon Session, which began on July 20, is scheduled to continue till August 13.
