Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday paid homage to Mahatma Ayyankali on his birth anniversary, remembering the pioneering social reformer for his lifelong contribution to social justice, education and the empowerment of marginalised communities.
In a post on X, PM Modi said, “Paying homage to Mahatma Ayyankali on his birth anniversary! He is remembered as a great pioneer of social justice. His efforts to secure educational opportunities for the marginalised, improve the lives of agricultural workers and serve the poor remain very inspiring. His life gives strength to all those working for social empowerment.”
HM Shah also paid tribute to Ayyankali, describing him as a pioneering social reformer who helped pave the way for social transformation through education in Keralam.
In a post on X, the Home Minister said, “I bow to the great sage Mahatma Ayyankali Ji on his Jayanti. Ayyankali Ji was a pioneering social reformer who paved the way for social transformation through education in Keralam. He also laid the foundation of a united and robust society upholding the values of social justice and equity. His values continue to guide our path to the pinnacle of progress.”
