Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address young people at the Khelo India Dialogue through video conferencing on Thursday as part of the National Sports Day 2026 celebrations.
The programme, scheduled for 11 a.m., has been organised by Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) to provide young people a platform to engage with India’s sporting journey, share their aspirations and contribute ideas towards building a youth-led Viksit Bharat.
The nationwide programme will be held with the participation of youth at two colleges in every district across States and Union Territories. It is aimed at advancing the Prime Minister’s vision of building a fit, disciplined and sporting nation while placing the aspirations of young people at the centre of the country’s development agenda.
The Khelo India Dialogue will bring together sports, youth leadership, civic responsibility, volunteering, fitness and nation-building on a common platform. It will provide young participants an opportunity to engage directly with India’s sporting ambitions and contribute their perspectives to the country’s evolving youth and sports ecosystem.
Following the national programme, local interactions will be organised involving young participants, MY Bharat volunteers, local sportspersons and public representatives. The initiative will also facilitate direct interaction between youth interested in sports and leading Indian athletes and medal winners.
Five themes for Yuva Samvaad
A key component of the programme will be Yuva Samvaad, where young participants will present their ideas, perspectives and aspirations on issues relating to sports and youth development.
The dialogue will focus on five key themes.
The first will be strengthening India’s sports ecosystem through improved facilities, coaching, sports science and wider, more inclusive participation.
The second theme will focus on nurturing sporting talent for the 2036 Olympics through scientific talent identification, transparent selection processes and long-term athlete development.
The third will centre on developing youth leadership through governance platforms and volunteering initiatives led by MY Bharat.
The fourth theme will focus on empowering youth for Viksit Bharat, including the development of civic-mindedness, future-ready skills and structured volunteering opportunities.
The fifth theme will be Nasha Mukt Yuva, aimed at encouraging young people to fight substance abuse through sports and peer networks.
The anti-drug campaign will be reinforced through weekly Jan Bhagidari activities under the Prime Minister’s 100-week nationwide campaign, which was launched on August 2, 2026.
