Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 p.m. on Tuesday after persistent sloganeering by Opposition members disrupted Question Hour despite repeated appeals from the Chair to restore order.
The Upper House had already witnessed disruptions during the morning sitting over the Ram Temple donation issue, leading to an adjournment till noon. When the House reassembled, Opposition members resumed their protests, creating a noisy atmosphere.
Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan commenced Question Hour, but the proceedings were repeatedly interrupted by sloganeering from the Opposition benches.
The Chairman repeatedly urged the protesting members to return to their seats, assuring them that they would be given an opportunity to speak once order was restored. Despite the appeals, the protests continued.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also responded to a question raised by Ratanjeet Singh and supplementary queries from other members, but her reply was drowned out by the continued sloganeering.
