Rajya Sabha adjourned till 2 pm amid opposition protests during Question Hour

Rajya Sabha proceedings were adjourned till 2 pm on Tuesday after persistent sloganeering by Opposition members disrupted Question Hour despite repeated appeals from the Chair to maintain order.

The Upper House had earlier witnessed disruptions over the Ram Temple donation issue, forcing an adjournment till noon. However, when the House reassembled, Opposition members resumed their protests, creating a noisy atmosphere.

Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan began Question Hour, but the proceedings were repeatedly interrupted by sloganeering from the Opposition benches.

Consumer Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi attempted to respond to a question raised by RJD MP Manoj Kumar Jha, but his remarks were largely inaudible amid the uproar.

The Chair repeatedly urged the protesting members to return to their seats, assuring them that they would be given an opportunity to raise their concerns once order was restored. Despite the repeated appeals, the disruptions continued.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also replied to a question from Ratanjeet Singh and supplementary queries from other members, but her response too was drowned out by the continued protests, prompting the Chair to adjourn the House till 2 pm.
