The 11th Ayurveda Day, celebrated across India and globally on September 23 under the theme “Ayurveda for a Healthier Tomorrow”, witnessed massive public participation, with more than 22,000 activities reported through the official Ayurveda Day digital platform.
According to the Ministry of Ayush, 13,10,690 participants registered for the celebrations, while 1,32,47,311 citizens extended their support for Ayurveda through the official digital platform. More than 90,000 images were also submitted, documenting activities and public participation during the celebrations.
The Ayurveda Day 2026 digital platform provided a common mechanism for citizens, institutions, communities and organisations to register their participation and report activities organised as part of the nationwide and international celebrations.
Wide Participation Across States
Several states recorded extensive participation, with Maharashtra, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh among those reporting large-scale activities. Programmes were organised across communities and institutions to promote awareness and understanding of Ayurveda and its role in health and wellness.
The celebrations featured a diverse range of activities, including Ayurveda awareness programmes, health and wellness camps, public outreach initiatives, educational programmes, medicinal plant plantation and conservation drives, Ayurveda Ahara and healthy dietary practices, and citizen engagement campaigns.
Ayurveda Day Celebrated in More Than 38 Countries
The 11th Ayurveda Day also saw participation from outside India, with activities reported from more than 38 countries.
Countries reporting Ayurveda Day activities included the United Kingdom, United States of America, China, Japan, Finland, Afghanistan, Ghana, New Zealand, Russia, Georgia and Albania, among others.
The international participation highlighted the expanding global outreach of Ayurveda Day, with communities and organisations in different parts of the world joining activities focused on Ayurveda awareness and wellness.
The large-scale participation in the 11th Ayurveda Day celebrations reflected the growing public engagement with Ayurveda in India and abroad. The activities brought together citizens, institutions, organisations and communities to promote awareness of Ayurveda and its potential contribution to a healthier tomorrow.
