Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday inaugurated a new 400-bed tower at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital in Saket, taking the hospital’s total capacity to approximately 1,200 beds.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta attended the inauguration as the Guest of Honour. Delhi Health and Family Welfare, Transport and Information Technology Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh and South Delhi MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri were also present.
The expansion is aimed at strengthening the hospital’s capacity to provide tertiary and quaternary healthcare services to patients from Delhi-NCR and other parts of the country.
With the addition of the new tower, Max Hospital, Saket, will have around 1,200 beds and offer specialised healthcare services across more than 22 disciplines.
The new facility is equipped with advanced medical technologies, including the Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot and Mako Total Knee Replacement Robot. The technologies are designed to support minimally invasive and precision-driven procedures across various specialities.
Abhay Soi, Chairman and Managing Director of Max Healthcare Institute Limited, said the new facility combines advanced technology, modern infrastructure and clinical expertise to provide high-quality healthcare to patients from India and abroad.
“This state-of-the-art new facility brings together cutting-edge technology, world-class infrastructure and exceptional Indian clinical talent to deliver advanced, high-quality patient care to people from India and across the globe,” Soi said.
He added that the facility would contribute to the development of a stronger and more inclusive healthcare ecosystem in the country.
Max Saket is part of Max Healthcare’s integrated healthcare and medical education ecosystem, which has more than 42,000 employees.
According to the company, Max Healthcare provided free treatment worth Rs 244 crore to 3.60 lakh patients last year. The organisation also said that its Max Institute of Medical Sciences supported 1.62 lakh students through higher education, training and professional learning programmes.
The healthcare group said it treated more than 40 lakh patients from over 800 cities and 180 countries in the last financial year, including patients seeking specialised and advanced medical care.
Max Healthcare Institute Limited operates 21 healthcare facilities with more than 6,100 beds, with a significant presence in North India.
Its network includes tertiary and quaternary care hospitals and medical facilities across Delhi-NCR, including Saket, Patparganj, Vaishali, Rajendra Place, Dwarka, Noida and Shalimar Bagh. The group also operates facilities in Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Mohali, Bathinda, Dehradun and Bhubaneswar.
The group also runs a secondary care hospital in Gurgaon and medical centres in Noida, Lajpat Nagar and Panchsheel Park in Delhi-NCR, as well as Mohali in Punjab.
The hospitals in Mohali and Bathinda operate under public-private partnership arrangements with the Punjab government.
