The rainfall is expected to provide some relief from the recent humid and uncomfortable weather, with daytime temperatures likely to remain relatively moderate.
Delhi is expected to record a minimum temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius and a maximum of nearly 31 degrees Celsius. The capital is likely to remain mostly overcast, with occasional light showers and isolated moderate rainfall.
In Noida, cloudy conditions with spells of rain are expected. Temperatures are likely to range between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius, while increased humidity may continue despite the showers.
Gurgaon is likely to remain predominantly cloudy, with rain possible during the afternoon. The temperature is expected to hover between 24 and 30 degrees Celsius. Several parts of Gurgaon and adjoining areas may receive rain, while isolated areas of Haryana could witness heavy showers.
Ghaziabad may experience intermittent rain and thundershowers, including during the morning and afternoon. Temperatures are likely to remain between 25 and 33 degrees Celsius. The unsettled weather is expected to continue into Saturday.
In Faridabad, cloudy skies and rain are likely, with temperatures expected to range from 24 to 30 degrees Celsius. Several areas of the district and southern Haryana may receive rain, with isolated heavy showers also possible.
The rain and thundershowers are expected to continue through Saturday before gradually weakening after the weekend. The broader weather pattern points to continued rainfall activity across parts of north India and the Gangetic plains.
Several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, are likely to remain under the influence of a developing weather system over the Bay of Bengal. The system is expected to support widespread rainfall over the coming days, with isolated areas potentially receiving heavy precipitation.
The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms and strong winds in vulnerable areas. Wind speeds could reach around 70 kmph during intense weather activity, raising the possibility of disruptions, particularly during thunderstorms.
