The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory ahead of Janmashtami celebrations at Khatu Shyam Delhi Dham Temple in Narela, where a large gathering of devotees is expected.
The advisory will remain in force from 7 am on September 4 to 1 am on September 5, with heavy pedestrian movement around the temple likely to affect traffic, particularly on the NH-44 stretch between Singhu Border and Mukarba Chowk.
Commuters have been advised to avoid the stretch as far as possible. Motorists can use UER-II and Palla-Bakhtawarpur Road as alternative routes to ease congestion.
Depending on traffic conditions, diversions may be implemented at key locations, including Singhu Border, Bakoli on UER-II and Mukarba Chowk. Traffic personnel will be deployed at these points to regulate movement and guide motorists towards alternative routes.
The Traffic Police has appealed to devotees and commuters not to park vehicles along roadsides, warning that illegal or obstructive parking could aggravate congestion. People travelling through the area have been advised to plan their journeys in advance, follow diversion signs and cooperate with traffic personnel.
Special arrangements have also been made to ensure unhindered passage for emergency vehicles while they are performing emergency duties. Bypass routes will be used wherever feasible.
With thousands of devotees expected to participate in Janmashtami prayers and festivities, authorities are focusing on ensuring the smooth conduct of celebrations while maintaining regular traffic movement in the area.
The Traffic Police has urged commuters to remain patient and follow official instructions. Traffic-related updates will be available through the Delhi Traffic Police website, social media handles, WhatsApp service and traffic helplines.
Officials have urged the public to plan their journeys in advance, use alternative routes where possible and cooperate with traffic personnel to ensure safe and smooth movement.
