Indian Railways has approved a new daily Mail train service between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar (Terminal), providing an overnight rail connectivity option between Kanpur and the National Capital Region.
The new service will operate as Train No. 14153/14154 Kanpur Central–Anand Vihar (T)–Kanpur Central Mail and will connect several important stations along the route, including Etawah, Aligarh and Ghaziabad.
Overnight journey between Kanpur and Delhi
Train No. 14153 Kanpur Central–Anand Vihar (T) Mail will depart from Kanpur Central at 8:40 pm and reach Anand Vihar (T) at 4:50 am the following morning.
In the return direction, Train No. 14154 Anand Vihar (T)–Kanpur Central Mail will leave Anand Vihar (T) at 11:25 pm and arrive at Kanpur Central at 7:25 am.
The train will cover a distance of 428 km in each direction. The scheduled journey time will be 8 hours 10 minutes from Kanpur Central to Anand Vihar and 8 hours on the return journey.
Eight commercial stoppages
The daily train will have commercial stoppages at eight stations – Phaphund, Etawah, Tundla, Hathras, Aligarh, Khurja, Dadri and Ghaziabad.
These stops will provide passengers from several towns and cities along the corridor with direct access to the new overnight service.
Strengthening connectivity between Kanpur and Delhi region
The new daily Mail service will provide an additional rail travel option between Kanpur Central and Anand Vihar, with overnight timings designed to facilitate passenger movement in both directions.
The service will strengthen connectivity between Kanpur, Etawah, Aligarh, Ghaziabad and the Delhi region, while improving passenger mobility along this important rail corridor.
