The Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) and its institutes have made significant progress in cleanliness, space optimisation, scrap disposal and grievance redressal under the fifth edition of the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM 5.0).
As part of the campaign, the Ministry conducted 20 cleanliness drives across 10 offices and institutes between December 2025 and August 2026, resulting in the freeing up of 54,815 square feet of office space for more productive use.
The Ministry said its scrap and waste disposal initiatives also generated Rs. 1.57 crore in cumulative revenue for the exchequer, while systematic weeding of files helped streamline documentation and support the transition towards digital records.
Under the campaign, 750 physical files and 177 e-files were successfully closed.
Grievance redressal strengthened
The Ministry also reported substantial progress in addressing public grievances, references from dignitaries and inter-ministerial proposals.
During the campaign, one Parliamentary Assurance, 17 references from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), 37 references from Members of Parliament and 304 public grievances were successfully addressed.
The Ministry also achieved 100 per cent resolution of all Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) references, including Cabinet proposals, and Public Grievance Appeals.
Focus on efficient and citizen-centric governance
The Ministry of Earth Sciences said the achievements under SCDPM 5.0 reflect its focus on institutionalising Swachhata, administrative efficiency, optimal use of office space and effective disposal of pending matters.
The campaign has also contributed to revenue generation through scrap disposal, reduction of physical records and improved grievance redressal mechanisms.
The Ministry reiterated its commitment to strengthening administrative transparency and bureaucratic efficiency, while creating a clean, green and citizen-centric working environment across its offices and institutes.
