Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal arrived in Milwaukee, United States, today to attend the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting and interacted with CEOs and senior executives of leading US manufacturing and technology companies at a business roundtable hosted by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM).
Goyal was received by Dr. M. Anand Prakash, Consul General of India in Chicago, upon his arrival.
NAM represents a substantial share of leading US manufacturing companies, which contribute significantly to the country’s manufacturing GDP of around $3 trillion, stated a press release by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
During the interaction, Goyal highlighted the expanding scope of the India-US economic relationship, saying it is moving beyond a traditional trade relationship to encompass investment, manufacturing, technology, innovation, resilient supply chains and the development of high-value capabilities in both countries.
The CEOs and senior executives shared their views on emerging opportunities in India and their perspectives on expanding partnerships in the country. Goyal said the Government of India remains committed to facilitating companies in their operations, expansion and investments in India.
Goyal also attended a reception hosted by the Business Roundtable (BRT) and NAM at the global headquarters of Rockwell Automation, where he interacted with Trade Ministers from other G20 countries and senior business leaders of US companies.
