Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Indian shooter Esha Singh on winning the silver medal in the women’s 25m pistol individual event at the Asian Games 2026, praising her precision and composure in a closely fought final.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said, “Congratulations to @singhesha10 on winning the Silver Medal in the Women’s 25m Pistol Individual event at the Asian Games 2026. The Indian shooter clinched the silver in a dramatic final in Aichi-Nagoya that featured multiple shoot-offs. Esha, who qualified eighth for the final, fought through a series of eliminations to reach the gold-medal shoot-off.
Esha faced China’s Xiao Jiaruixuan in the final stage. With the two shooters separated by a single hit, Esha registered four hits to force a shoot-off. Both shooters again scored four hits each in the next exchange, before Xiao eventually prevailed, leaving Esha with the silver medal.
The result added another Asian Games medal to Esha’s record.
