Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Indian shooters Manisha Keer, Neeru and Aashima Ahlawat on winning the silver medal in the women’s trap team event at the Asian Games.
PM Modi described their performance as a commendable display of precision, focus and teamwork, and wished the entire team continued success.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), in a post on X, said:

In a separate post on X by the PMO, PM Modi congratulated Neeru Dhanda on winning the gold medal in the women’s individual trap event, describing her achievement as a historic moment.
“Neeru Dhanda has given India a historic moment to celebrate! Congratulations to her on becoming the first Indian woman to win an individual Gold in Trap at the Asian Games. Her exceptional accuracy and composure have brought immense pride to the nation. This achievement will encourage many more young sportspersons to take up shooting and aim for the highest honours: PM@narendramodi”

Earlier, Neeru Dhanda, Aashima Ahlawat and Manisha Keer had won the silver medal in the women’s trap team event at the Asian Games.
The Indian trio posted a combined score of 328 after three days of the 125-shot qualification round to finish second. China won the gold with an aggregate score of 346, while Kuwait took bronze with 325 at the Aichi Prefectural General Shooting Gallery.
Dhanda subsequently won the women’s individual trap gold medal, securing India’s fifth gold at the Aichi-Nagoya Games after topping both the qualification round and the final.
Dhanda, who had earlier helped India win silver in the women’s trap team event, held her nerve in rainy conditions to top the eight-shooter final with a score of 26, according to ESPN.
