Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated Murali Sreeshankar on winning another Asian Games medal in the men’s long jump, saying his performance earned him a well-deserved place on the podium.

India’s Murali Sreeshankar produced a gutsy performance to win silver in the men’s long jump at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, overcoming severe pain from an ankle injury to finish with a best effort of 8.07m.
