Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday met Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi and reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas.
During the meeting, PM Modi recalled India’s ancient civilisational linkages with Kazakhstan and expressed satisfaction over the steady development of India-Kazakhstan relations in recent years.
The two leaders reviewed cooperation in political relations, trade, defence and security, connectivity, energy, critical minerals, emerging technologies, creative economy and people-to-people ties.
They also exchanged views on regional and international developments.
PM Modi and Tokayev reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the strategic partnership between India and Kazakhstan for the mutual benefit of their people.
The leaders also underlined the importance of the partnership in promoting peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.
