Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a warm and productive bilateral meeting with Uganda’s Vice President Jessica Rose Epel Alupo in New Delhi on Sunday on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit.
The two leaders reviewed the state of bilateral relations between India and Uganda and discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation across key priority areas.
PM Modi and Vice President Alupo emphasized the need to enhance bilateral collaboration through technology partnerships, capacity building, knowledge sharing, investment facilitation and greater private-sector engagement between the two countries.
The leaders highlighted that India’s development partnership with Uganda continues to serve as a source of strength for both countries. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s support for Uganda’s Vision 2040, which seeks to transform the country and promote prosperity.
The two leaders also underscored the importance of close people-to-people ties, noting that these continue to provide a strong foundation for the India-Uganda partnership.
During the meeting, PM Modi and Alupo called for closer bilateral engagement to strengthen and champion the voice of the Global South.
