Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday shared an article by former Finance and Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia highlighting leadership, governance, people-centric policies and the implementation of government initiatives.

Adhia’s article draws on his experience of working with PM Modi at both the Gujarat and central levels.
Adhia, who worked in the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Office as Additional Principal Secretary and Principal Secretary, highlighted what he described as PM Modi’s long-term approach to planning, extensive consultations and regular reviews of government ministries.
He cited initiatives such as the Chintan Shivir for senior officials and the Vibrant Gujarat summit as examples of institutionalised management practices. Adhia also highlighted PM Modi’s focus on reviewing programmes based on their outcomes and his emphasis on improving governance.
Adhia’s article further discusses PM Modi’s reported empathy towards poor and disadvantaged sections and his personal engagement with colleagues and officials.
On the Prime Minister’s spiritual outlook, Adhia linked his approach to work and acceptance of outcomes with the concept of Karma Yoga in the Bhagavad Gita. He also referred to PM Modi’s faith in God and his interest in Vedantic philosophy.
