Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the centenary celebrations of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi on October 1.
The Prime Minister is scheduled to attend the programme at 11 am and will address the gathering marking 100 years since the establishment of the UPSC in 1926.
The event will mark the culmination of the year-long centenary celebrations, which began on October 1, 2025.
Centenary coin, stamp and book to be released
During the programme, PM Modi will release a UPSC Centenary Commemorative Coin and a Commemorative Stamp.
He will also release a book titled ‘100 Landmark Judgements – Shaping the Policies of UPSC and Public Service Commissions in India’.
The commemorative releases will form part of the programme highlighting the UPSC’s century-long journey and its role in public service recruitment.
Stakeholders from across the country to participate
The centenary programme will bring together stakeholders associated with public service recruitment and administration from across the country.
The participants will include Chairmen and Members of State Public Service Commissions, senior officers of the Government of India, academicians, UPSC officials and other stakeholders.
Two-day programme on September 30 and October 1
The centenary celebrations are part of a two-day programme being organised by the UPSC on September 30 and October 1, 2026.
The first day will feature ‘Shatabdi Samaroh – Manthan’ at Bharat Mandapam. The programme will include addresses by eminent speakers followed by panel discussions on various themes.
The second day will culminate in the centenary celebrations, with the Prime Minister’s participation and address, along with the release of the commemorative coin, stamp and book.
