Rajasthan’s rich traditions of art, devotion, craftsmanship, textiles and heritage are being showcased through a collection of 37 mementos featured in the PM Mementos e-Auction 2026.
The collection brings together artefacts representing the state’s folk deities, traditional paintings, textiles, architectural heritage, historical traditions and sporting achievements, offering a glimpse into Rajasthan’s diverse cultural identity.
Handcrafted elephants and royal traditions
Among the prominent pieces is a handcrafted Ambabari elephant with Howdah, carved from wood and decorated with traditional patterns. Another wooden elephant procession set depicts a royal howdah accompanied by ceremonial attendants, reflecting Rajasthan’s association with royal processions and traditional craftsmanship.
The collection also features silver mementos of Veer Tejaji Maharaj, the revered folk deity of Rajasthan. One depicts Tejaji mounted on a horse, while another silver-plated statue portrays him riding with his characteristic spear and snake motif.
Devotional art from across Rajasthan
Rajasthan’s rich devotional and traditional painting heritage is represented through several works in the collection.
These include Pichwai paintings of Shrinathji from Nathdwara, a Phad painting depicting Lakshmi and Narayan, and a Pattachitra-style artwork portraying Krishna Raas Leela. The artworks reflect different forms of devotional storytelling and artistic expression.
The cultural diversity of the collection also extends to the Ajmer Sharif Dargah, represented through a hand-painted artwork and a framed depiction of the shrine. The painting captures the architectural character of the Dargah and its tradition of welcoming devotees from different faiths.
Textiles, religious sites and folk traditions
Rajasthan’s distinctive textile and ornamental traditions are showcased through a decorated turban featuring a stone and feather brooch, a yellow pagdi with multicoloured motifs and several angavastras with gota borders.
The collection also features representations of several revered sites and deities, including Kaila Mata of Karauli, Sundha Mata, Khema Baba of Baytu, the Brahma Temple in Pushkar and Shri Kalyan Raiji Maharaj.
A painting of Mangarh Dham in Banswara is also part of the collection, adding to the representation of Rajasthan’s religious and historical heritage.
Historical and contemporary memorabilia
Alongside traditional cultural artefacts, the collection includes historical and contemporary memorabilia. These include framed newspaper editions related to the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha and a decorative plate artwork issued by BJP Rajasthan.
Together, the 37 mementos present a varied portrait of Rajasthan through its folk traditions, devotional art, paintings, textiles, historical heritage, architecture and contemporary achievements.
