President Droupadi Murmu on Wednesday launched the Brahma Kumaris’ campaign ‘Spiritual Awakening for World Renewal’ and inaugurated the ‘Global Spiritual Palace’ Retreat Centre in Vadodara, Gujarat.
On the occasion, the President also virtually launched the ‘Youth for Viksit Bharat: Awakening Inner Strength for Nation Building’ campaign of Brahma Kumaris Nadiad, Gujarat.
Addressing the gathering, President Murmu said there is a need not only for economic development but also for human development. She said education should not merely develop intellect but also awaken wisdom.
The President emphasised the need for progress accompanied by sensitivity towards nature and said strength should promote self-control rather than control over others. She also highlighted the role of spirituality in connecting people.
President Murmu appreciated the Brahma Kumaris organisation for spreading the message of personal transformation and global renewal through meditation and spiritual knowledge in India and other countries.
She said the potential for change exists within every individual. According to the President, when people believe that transforming their thoughts and actions can change their lives, and when hope and self-respect are restored, they can become agents of positive change for themselves and society.
The President expressed confidence that the newly inaugurated Global Spiritual Palace would become a place where people from diverse sections of society could come together in peace and harmony.
Speaking about the ‘Youth for Viksit Bharat’ campaign, President Murmu said it was heartening to virtually launch the initiative from Nadiad, the birthplace of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
She said when young people channel their thoughts, emotions and actions in a positive direction, the impact extends from families and workplaces to communities and ultimately the nation.
The President said ‘Awakening Inner Strength’ is not merely a message of personal development but also a process of nation-building. She stressed that empowering the youth and nurturing them as self-reliant, peace-loving and responsible citizens is a collective responsibility.
President Murmu further said self-transformation is considered the foundation of societal transformation. She called for aligning this legacy with the requirements of modern life.
She said the goal should be to build an India that is economically prosperous, scientifically advanced, socially inclusive and spiritually awakened.
