Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds brought cooler weather to Delhi and neighbouring areas on Sunday, offering relief after several days of relatively warm conditions.
Rain was reported late on Saturday night across Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram and Faridabad. The showers and cool winds led to a noticeable change in weather conditions across the National Capital Region.
Delhi recorded a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius at the Safdarjung weather station early on Sunday. Humidity stood at 98 per cent, while misty conditions were reported around 5:30 a.m., according to the weather dashboard.
The India Meteorological Department has forecast a maximum temperature of 31 to 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 16 to 18 degrees Celsius for the day. Skies are likely to remain mainly clear, with surface winds expected to strengthen during the afternoon.
