Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday took part in the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva: Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath’ campaign at Kamla Nehru Ridge.
The initiative under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 25 years in public service was also joined by large number of students, people and sanitation workers across the city.
In response to the call of PM Modi, people across the country have taken up one or another task of service in their hands and are engaged in it. Thousands of people across Delhi are also involved in service activities, the chief minister said.
“Cleanliness should be a part of our regular habit and lifestyle. We all should have a sense of responsibility towards it. Today, we all have come here in the park and university area and are collectively contributing to the cleanliness drive,” she said.
Delhi Tourism minister Kapil Mishra said that the mega cleanliness drive was conducted across 300 locations across the city. The personnel of 103 RAF Battalion conducts cleanliness drive at Pushpanjali School, Tukmirpur under the ‘Swachhta Hi Seva 2026’ campaign.
Mishra said that “cleanliness is our collective and moral responsibility” and called upon the people to join hands to make Delhi clean and beautiful.
The minister also participated in the programme along with BJP leaders and workers.
