Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Indian athletes and teams for winning medals in sailing, archery and squash at the Asian Games 2026, praising their skill, determination, composure and spirited performances.
Congratulating Prince Noble and Manu Francis on winning the Silver medal in the Men’s Skiff event, the Prime Minister said the duo had bettered their previous performances and reached the podium, describing it as a remarkable leap powered by skill and determination.
The Prime Minister extended his best wishes to both for their future endeavours.

India’s Manu Francis and Prince Noble won the silver medal in the men’s skiff event at the Asian Games 2026 on Thursday. The Indian duo finished behind China after completing nine races with 23 points, while Hong Kong claimed the bronze medal. The medal was India’s first in sailing at the ongoing Games.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru on his hard-fought victory in the Men’s Compound Individual Bronze Medal Match.
PM Modi said that with precision under pressure, remarkable composure and an unyielding spirit, Ganesh had brought immense glory. He also extended his best wishes to the archer for his future endeavours.

Indian compound archer Ganesh Mani Ratnam Thirumuru produced a commanding performance to win the men’s individual bronze medal at the Asian Games in Nagoya on Thursday. Ganesh, who was part of the gold-winning men’s team on Wednesday, defeated Vietnam’s Cong Duc Dang 149-144 in the bronze medal playoff after bowing out of individual gold contention with a semifinal loss.
PM Modi also congratulated the Indian Women’s Squash Team on winning the Bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026.
The Prime Minister praised the team for its spirited effort and said the players displayed great resolve to secure a richly deserved place on the podium. He said the success would also motivate youngsters towards squash, which is becoming popular in India.

Anahat Singh, Tanvi Khanna, Joshna Chinappa and Shameena Riaz of the Indian women’s squash team won a bronze medal at the Asian Games 2026 in Nagoya. India secured the bronze after losing 2-1 to Hong Kong in a closely fought semifinal at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena.
