Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday met Mrs Akie Abe, wife of late former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, in New Delhi and expressed deep appreciation for her enduring association with India.
Recalling Shinzo Abe as a dear friend and visionary leader, the Prime Minister said he played a defining role in taking India-Japan relations to new heights.
PM Modi also said the inauguration of the Abe Memorial Corridor at the Rudraksh Convention Centre in Varanasi was a fitting tribute to Shinzo Abe’s lasting contribution to the friendship between India and Japan.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said:
