PM Modi’s 25-year journey defined by ‘Seva, Sangharsh, Samarpan’ and ‘Nation First’: HM Shah

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 continuous years as Head of Government, describing his journey from Gujarat Chief Minister to Prime Minister as one defined by Seva, Sangharsh and Samarpan, with the guiding principle of putting the nation first and working for the welfare and empowerment of every section of society.

Prime Minister Modi completed 25 years as Head of Government on October 7, 2026, marking a political journey that began with his assumption of office as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001 and continued with his taking over as Prime Minister of India in 2014.

In a series of posts on X, HM Shah said the Prime Minister’s 25-year journey had been defined by tireless hard work, resolve and the principle of putting the nation first.

“Heartfelt congratulations to the illustrious Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji on completing 25 years of Seva and Samarpan – a journey defined by tireless hard work, remarkable resolve, and the guiding principle of putting the nation first. It was on this very day, October 7, 2001, that Modi ji took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Since then, his continuous journey of Seva, Sangharsh and Samarpan – spanning his tenures as Chief Minister and Prime Minister – has become synonymous with the welfare of the poor, the empowerment of women, the upliftment of the youth, and the prosperity of every section of society. Through these #25YearsOfSeva, Modi ji has redefined governance – characterized by public welfare policies, effective implementation, decisive leadership, transparency, and certainty of results – thereby establishing the ideal of the ‘politics of performance’.”

In another post, HM Shah highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s governance initiatives in Gujarat, including the rebuilding of Kutch after the earthquake, the Jyotigram Yojana, the Vibrant Gujarat initiative and agricultural growth, describing these achievements as the foundation of a governance model later expanded at the national level.

HM Shah said, “As Chief Minister, Modi ji rebuilt Kutch – devastated by an earthquake – into an exemplary region; he ensured 24-hour electricity reached every village through the Jyotigram Yojana; gave a new direction to investment and industry via solar energy and the ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ initiative; and achieved an agricultural growth rate of over 8%, thereby establishing a model of good governance in Gujarat that later became the foundation for the entire nation. This vision was further expanded during his tenure as Prime Minister. India achieved new milestones across domains ranging from space to the oceans, and from global platforms to internal security. Significant transformations also took place in the lives of the people – 250 million individuals were lifted out of poverty, while crores of families gained access to permanent housing, health coverage of up to ₹5 lakh, Ujjwala gas connections, and tap water in every home.”

HM Shah further underlined India’s expanding economic and technological capabilities under Prime Minister Modi, as well as his vision of a developed India by 2047.

Union Home Minister said, “Today, under the leadership of Modi ji, India is a rapidly growing economy scaling new heights in sectors such as manufacturing, digital payments, start-ups, semiconductors, defence production, and renewable energy. Amidst this era of war and instability, India has emerged as a significant global voice for peace and harmony. By instilling self-confidence in crores of citizens, Modi ji gave the mantra of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ and inspired a resolve to make India a leader in every sector by 2047. It is a matter of privilege and pride for all of us to participate in these service initiatives under his leadership.”
