The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in parts of West Bengal until the morning of November 4, followed by dry weather across most parts of the state.

The weather department clarified that cyclonic storm Murasu is unlikely to have any impact on West Bengal.

According to the IMD, the storm, which made landfall near Ongole in Andhra Pradesh, is likely to move in a north-northwestward direction. Its movement is being continuously monitored by the weather agency.

The IMD has also forecast a gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius across the state over the next three days.

Light rain or thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, Purba Medinipur, Paschim Medinipur, Jhargram, Bankura and Purulia districts.

The weather department has forecast dry conditions over most parts of West Bengal from Wednesday.
