INS Sahyadri concluded its participation in the Indian Navy-Republic of Korea Navy bilateral exercise at Busan on October 29, strengthening maritime cooperation and interoperability between the two navies.
According to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), the exercise included harbour and sea phases, combining professional exchanges with coordinated operations at sea.
During the harbour phase, personnel held professional discussions, cross-deck visits, operational briefings and subject matter expert exchanges to share operational perspectives and best practices. Cultural activities and sporting engagements helped build camaraderie between the participants.
In the sea phase, INS Sahyadri and ROKS Munmu the Great conducted coordinated navigation, helicopter operations and joint maritime manoeuvres. These activities helped personnel practise coordination and develop a better understanding of each other’s operating procedures.
The Ministry said the successful completion of the exercise reflects the shared resolve of India and South Korea to deepen maritime cooperation through sustained engagement and collaboration. Such interactions contribute to mutual trust and support collective efforts towards maintaining peace, stability and security in the Indo-Pacific.
