Sports Department launches ‘Khelo Bharat’ quiz on MY Bharat portal; entries open till November 20

The Department of Sports on Wednesday launched the “Khelo Bharat: From Manufacturing to Podium Finish Quiz” on the MY Bharat portal to raise awareness of India’s sports ecosystem, domestic sports goods manufacturing and participation in international competitions.

The quiz will remain open until November 20 and is available to all Indian citizens, irrespective of age, gender, educational qualification or state of residence.

Participants will have 15 minutes to answer 20 questions. The top 100 performers will receive Fit India merchandise, with ties decided through a computer-based lottery. Participants can view the correct answers after completing the quiz.

The initiative covers the Khelo India Sports Goods Manufacturing Scheme, which has an outlay of Rs 1,856.67 crore. Its two components—Incentives and Interventions – provide for investment support, manufacturing zones, strengthening existing clusters, production incentives, certification and testing, research, skill development, startups, and branding and outreach.

The scheme aims to expand domestic manufacturing, generate employment, increase exports and improve the global competitiveness of Indian sports goods manufacturers.

The quiz also covers India’s participation in the 20th Asian Games and fifth Asian Para Games, held in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, in 2026.

India fielded 501 athletes across 36 disciplines and 255 events at the Asian Games. The contingent included 65 Khelo India athletes, 203 athletes supported under the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS) and 310 debutants, representing 31 states and Union Territories.

At the Asian Para Games, India’s contingent comprised 168 athletes competing across 11 disciplines and 177 events. It included 33 Khelo India athletes, 47 TOPS-supported athletes, six athletes from National Centres of Excellence and 61 debutants, representing 25 states and Union Territories.

The quiz links sports manufacturing and innovation with India’s international sporting ambitions. It also highlights Khelo India’s role in grassroots participation, talent identification, athlete development and sports infrastructure.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports encouraged participants to read the reference material on the MY Bharat portal before attempting the quiz.

Citizens can participate through the MY Bharat quiz page.
