Teachers’ Day: PM Modi’s ‘salute’ after interaction with teachers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted the nation on the occasion of Teachers’ Day, saluting the teachers for their unwavering dedication and great impact in building our future and inspiring dreams.

Modi also paid tributes to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister shared highlights from the interaction with teachers yesterday. The PM interacted with the winners at his residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, Delhi along with Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

In a post shared on X, the PM said;
“Teachers play a key role in building our future and inspiring dreams. On #TeachersDay, we salute them for their unwavering dedication and great impact. Tributes to Dr. S. Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary.

This year, a total of 75 teachers have been chosen for the National Award from all corners of the country. They will be presented with the award by President Draoupadi Murmu on September 5, as per Education Ministry Officials. The event is scheduled to take place at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Each recipient will be granted a certificate of merit, a cash prize of Rs. 50,000, and a silver medal. The Department of School Education and Literacy, under the Ministry of Education, is responsible for organizing this event.

The roster of National Teacher Award winners comprises 50 school teachers, 13 educators from higher education institutions, and 12 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. These awardees will also have the opportunity to engage with the President.

The National Teachers Award serves the purpose of honouring and celebrating the distinctive contributions of the nation’s most outstanding teachers. These educators have not only improved the quality of education but have also enriched the lives of their students through their unwavering dedication.
