The Indian shooters ran riot on Day 4 of the ongoing Asian Games, bagging gold and silver medals across various events. The women’s 25m pistol team event witnessed a spectacular performance by the Indian trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan, who clinched the gold medal. Bhaker’s prowess was on full display as she not only secured the gold but also topped the qualification round in the women’s 25m pistol event.
Esha Singh impressed with a fifth-place finish, while Rhythm Sangwan secured the seventh spot.
In another impressive feat, Ashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik, and Sift Kaur Samra contributed to India’s medal tally by winning silver in the 50m rifle 3 positions women’s team event. Notably, Sift Kaur Samra not only secured the silver but also shattered the Asian and Asian Games records during the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions qualifiers, finishing in second place. Chouksey held her own with a sixth-place finish in the same event.
In a different sporting arena, Rohit Jadhav represented India in the wushu men’s Daoshu final, securing the eighth position.
Meanwhile, in the swimming arena, Nina Venkatesh competed in the women’s 100m butterfly event but narrowly missed the qualification for the final, finishing 14th in the heats.
